He sounds like an ex-Microsoft employee except if it were such, it would be written more like:

Emphasis on PTOS which extends the brand throughout CNA's among PTL's, and advocate of building a global network of SSSH's.

I think these kind of buzzwords just jive with Americans. I would be very surprised if he or the event was held in Australia. We're just not as immune to finely-spun bullshit right?

Updated 24/Dec.

I've been asked to delete this post and have declined, although I have removed the link and name in order to protect the guilty. If you think I'm being unreasonable please leave a comment.

Before you do, just consider another great quote from the same source

Emphasis on passive talent oriented strategy which extends the brand throughout captive niche audiences among passive talent leads, and advocate of building a global network of self sustaining sourcing hubs.

Now what do you think? Reminds me of good old Dilbert

Ummm...yeah. What Alec said. I don't know where it came from and there are grammatical writing styles (if you can call it a "style") that seem to provide similar sensations to the fingernails down a blackboard. Dave Mendoza seems to employ this "style". Anyway, branding, to me stirs images of cattle and rather hot, stylishly crafted pieces of iron...so what do I know?

Merry Christmas :)

No its about developing relationships with passive talent within the context of social relationships, but why this branding issue is of concern when it is intended for an entirely different industry is in question. I would not profess to know your job as much as you would know mine. You have your subject matter expertise and I have mine. I plead ignorance to your day to day and you may as well plead the same - it is understandable, but not so that you profess to mock that which you were not asked to comprehend.

It is equal to my making fun of how you code your software development.

Odd.

I believe you either tried to join my six degrees network or someone in Australia sent you the message - otherwise I have not sent out such requests.

The subject of my rather off hand comment has been quite offended by my poking fun at his internet writing. Whilst he has refused to post his objections here I did promise him a reply so here it is.

1) I did not arbitrarily select this gentlemen. His writing was bought to my attention because of his campaign to get positive votes for his blog. If you solicit support from strangers you have to be prepared for many different responses

2) The theme of this blog is not tolerance, religious or otherwise. It's a place where I can vent my spleen as I see fit. Remember the "Brand" here is "I'm a Grumpy Old Fart"

3) Being able to find me, despite there being no direct clues on my blog, does not show any particular talent. it's takes about 1 minute with Google (is that what CyberSleuthing means?)

3) Now onto the actual core issues:

I heartedly dislike pretension and cant which this writing seems to exude in spades (I realise that some readers will consider my English pretentious as well, but at least I think it's comprehensible). What makes people think the phrase "...evolution of Social Networking for the Passive Talent Masses, Guerrilla Sourcing to Mainstream Relationships" is understandable English (US English or otherwise)

The other thing that amused was the emphasis elsewhere from this person that they are a branding guru, except I couldn't work out what their brand was or what they actually did. My immediate thought was they are trying to hide that they offer very little. But that's just my personal opinion, to which I am entitled of course.

However after a bit of digging I think the value proposition is "... helping job agents and personnel managers find CV's and individuals using internet search engines", or did I just dilute the brand message?

4) Finally -- This is the internet and shit happens, so get over it. In the rest of the world we expect people to have slightly thicker skins and we don't walk around as if we treading on egg shells.

Peace to all.
